Our selection of chocolate companies in Devon have the wow factor whether you want to impress someone or feel tempted yourself

Chocolates

Barbers Cocoa, Kingsteignton

Barbers Cocoa lightly roasts its beans to preserve their natural goodness. This gives its chocolate a fruitiness. Whole milk powder and golden cane sugar are then added to give a rich, melt-in-the-mouth creaminess. Its products include bars, hot chocolate, cocoa tea, Easter eggs, and some vegan options too.

The planet-saving philosophy at Barbers Cocoa means that all packaging is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Its bags are made of wood tree sap and completely biodegrade. Tubes are made of 80% recyclable material and are 100% biodegradable, and best of all, the cocoa beans are picked from organic, Fairtrade farms.

Exe Chocolate, Exeter

Owner Nicola Knight makes all her chocolate at home in her kitchen using small machines, but that doesn’t stop her from creating excellent chocolate. It is made in micro-batches of 2kg or less, with great care taken at every step to nurture and bring out the flavour of the beans.

The process begins with sourcing top quality cacao. Flavour is always at the forefront of Nicola’s decision making and she uses her experience with chocolate tasting and cacao evaluation to select the best beans that offer an outstanding flavour profile.
