Treat yourself to a mid-morning treat. These four Plymouth restaurants know the importance of a good brunch

Treat yourself to a mid-morning treat and go out for brunch. At Taste Buds Magazine, we bring you some of the best places to eat in Plymouth, and we’re focusing on those with special brunch menus. The following four restaurants know the importance of a good breakfast, and have provided splendid spreads accordingly.

Monty’s Café and Coffee Shop

Local food is brought daily to Monty’s, and accompanying it is a range of gourmet coffees. From a Full English to a bowl of muesli, fruit and yoghurt, it sells everything. Pancakes come in both sweet and savoury varieties, while eggs come in every form imaginable – scrambled, poached, Benedict, Florentine, Royale, omelettes and even eggy bread. For an extra special brunch, opt for the Chef’s Brunch: two poached eggs, avocado and tomato on toast, with hummus and mushrooms.

Jasmin’s Café

You never need to leave the café when you go to Jasmin’s as the breakfast menu lasts all day and contains all the favourite breakfast classics, as well as a variety of light bites, jacket potatoes and salads. The selection of hot and cold drinks is extensive - choose from a wide range of coffees, or treat yourself to a milkshake.

Jacka Bakery

For a delicious range of baked goods, head to Jacka Bakery. With a rich tradition of baking that goes as far back as 1610, this family-run bakery specialises in sourdough. It serves cooked breakfasts, along with a wide choice of breads, pastries, and cakes. Its hot food menu includes alternative brunch options, such as peanut butter and honey bananas with chia seeds. Venture to Jacka to find out for yourself what its Cowboy Beans taste like!

Kitchen Asian Cuisine

Serving a fusion of Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai cuisines, Kitchen is a great place to start your day with brunch. Being one of the top restaurants to go to for brunch in Plymouth, if you’re looking for something different from the usual bacon and egg variety, then this would be a great bet.
