Purple sprouting broccoli with orange, sesame, hazelnuts & chilli flakes

Light Main

  • 450g purple sprouting broccoli, trimmed
  • Zest and juice of 1 orange
  • 1-2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 75g blanched hazelnuts, toasted and roughly chopped
  • Chilli flakes for garnish


  1. Blanch the broccoli in hot salted water for 2-3 minutes until tender, then drain.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the broccoli with the orange zest and juice, sesame oil, sesame seeds, hazelnuts, and salt and pepper.
  3. Transfer to a serving dish and scatter over the chilli flakes.
