The best places for outdoor eating in and around Exeter

As we’re enjoying a ‘proper’ summer, we’ve found some great places in outdoor eating in Exeter

Cote Brasserie

For a delicious bistro experience, try Côte Brasserie. This French restaurant serves a range of dishes, from leisurely breakfasts to celebratory dinners. Conveniently located in Exeter’s Cathedral Yard, a stroll away from all the shops and sights, there’s the option of al fresco dining in the cosy outside area during the summer.

On the Waterfront

Open for lunch and dinner, head quayside to this popular Exeter eatery. Enjoy top quality, locally-sourced food and drink outside on it’s shaded (and heated) terrace - a perfect spot to watch the world go by from.

The Waterfront also has a new alfresco bar this year. Doubling its serving capacity, you can get back to relaxing and enjoying the beautiful quayside views without waiting to be served for too long.

Dinosaur Café

Head to the Dinosaur Café and grab a sunny seat at the front of the building. It offers a great alternative to outdoor eating if you’re wanting a change from a pub restaurant -  you’ll find authentic Turkish food served at this family-run cafe.

The Seven Stars

Sometimes there is nothing greater than a beer garden. At the back at The Seven Stars, in Exeter, you’ll find just that. Each table is made inside a booth area in basic timber, and there are a few additional seats and deck chairs scattered around smaller tables for those who just want a drink and a snack. The booths come with roofing, so if you get a little summer shower, there’s no danger of a soggy supper. It serves up a range of pub classics to a high standard, as well as more unusual dishes.
