Devon’s oldest pub is certainly packed full of character. With cob walls, a thatched roof and inglenook fireplaces, this traditional Longhouse in Trusham dates back to AD 825. As well as serving quality local ingredients in the restaurant, there are also four bedrooms that provide cosy accommodation for guests.
The menus make the most of local producers (honey comes from the beehives next door), and Head Chef Johnny Varah enjoys creating fusion flavours – mixing Asian with British cooking. You can dine in the charming restaurant, in the bar, or (weather permitting) at one of the numerous tables outside. The bar is stocked with a great selection of real ales, local ciders and premium spirits.
