It’s always good to have some casual dining spots up your sleeve where you know you can always pop in for some amazing food without the stuffy dress codes or extravagant menus to deal with.

So, if you’re on a day out with the family or are looking to grab some food with your colleagues after work, here are the best Plymouth restaurants to head to!

Toot
Craving something new? This Persian restaurant and takeaway should be able to serve up something you haven’t tried before! Toot has a wide and varied menu to match its vibrant décor, offering a special mixed grill and freshly baked breads as well as a wide range of vegan options. This is one to head to if you’re feeling hungry as Toot do large portions to satisfy even the hungriest of diners!

Rock Salt Café
Start your day right, with breakfast at Rock Salt! Its delicious fresh coffee and luxurious light bites makes this the perfect brunch spot. However, Rock Salt’s menu is huge and also spans breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Here you’ll find all your favourite meals such as burgers, sharing plates and mac and cheese jazzed-up and served up to you in a whole new way. No matter what time of day you visit, what’s guaranteed is great food and drink.

The B-Bar
Sometimes a great dining experience is as much about the venue as the food. The B-Bar is a great example of this – its noodles (that are freshly cooked by Thai chefs) are to die for, and its also a venue for great local comedy acts, jazz performers and poetry readings. This chilled out and quirky bar decorated with fairy lights and colourful drapes is a great place to catch up with a group of friends over some drinks and a box of noodles.

Yukisan
The very first Japanese restaurant in Devon. Yukisan is a traditionally styled Japanese eatery that serves up all kinds of delicious Japanese dishes such as sushi, yakitori, tempura, lobster, steak and sashimi. Yukisan can be found in the vibrant Barbican area of Plymouth, making it a great place to head to in the evenings with a group of fellow food lovers! Yukisan also offers the chance to experience the authentic Japanese dining experience, as one of their three dining rooms is furnished with traditional Japanese cushioned seats.
